At the hospital...but not for me!

My friend Sara had her baby boy, Tate Christopher, on Monday!

8 pounds, 1 ounce, and perfect from head to toe! Congratulations Sara, Chris, Stella and Ruby!Tate Christopher

At the hospital, waiting for baby Tate to come back in the room.

As we await the arrival of Baby Boy Humphrey, we're tying to keep busy and not dwell on the fact that time really moves slowly when you're waiting for something good! I'm getting uncomfortable and am really ready for the big day to come! We've been prepping Olivia for her baby brother and hope that some of these talks "stick" in her memory. She knows his name and likes to cuddle my belly, and says she's going to be a big sister soon when he comes home.

She's really becoming a little person lately! She talks in full sentences almost all the time, counts to ten, sleeps in a big girl bed all the time now, recongnizes all the letters, knows most of the colors, sings (her version of) the ABC song, and uses the potty chair! (O.K. so the last one isn't all the time, but we're working on it!)
Some of her cutest sentences:

"There you go, honey."

"I tried sleep in big girl bed, I did it!"

"I big sister soon!"

As it warms up, we're spending as much time outside as possible. Unfortunately, it's extremely wet as all the snow melts, but I'm not complaining! I am ready for Spring! Here are a couple of pictures of Olivia playing in the last bit of snow and helping pick up sticks at the same time:

Olivia's Stats and Hot Bobo!

We took Olivia to her 2-year-old Big Girl doctor appointment on Friday and here are her stats:
Weight - 23 pounds (with clothes on...) which puts her in the 9th percentile (yup, that's it, but at least she made the chart this time)
Height - 2 feet 8 3/4 inches, this places our little bug in the 25th percentile
Head Circumference - 19 3/4 inches, which puts her in the 96th percentile
SO there you have it - thin, OK for height, Big Head (just like her Daddy). Aaron says it's just because she needs all that room for her Big Brains, but I'm not convinced. She doesn't seem to have a big head to us, but we know that a mouth that size has to be attached so something large enough to make all that noise!
Baby Boy is growing well, mad about the loss of space in there, and lets me know it all the time. He's doing fine and we're counting down the days until we get to meet him (only a month)! We're getting everything ready for his arrival but there seems to be so much left to do and so little time! We're going to move the crib out of Olivia's room this weekend (wow) and into his room! Olivia is doing very well in her Big Girl Bed and sleeps in it all the time! She hasn't been in her crib in about a week! Our little girl is growing up!

Here are a few pictures of her new best friend, Hot Bobo! ("He's so goofy Mommy!") He goes EVERYWHERE and does EVERYTHING with Olivia - sleeps, dances, visits the potty chair, colors, you name it and Hot Bobo does it! Thanks Grandma and Pa!

Happy 2nd Birthday Olivia!

Happy 2nd Birthday Olivia!

Olivia’s Birthday weekend started out with lots of snow and chilly temperatures. That didn’t stop Olivia from having fun turning the big t-w-o! We can’t believe she is two already. She’s such a little person now! Her big present was a new bed, a "Big Girl Bed"! She has started taking naps on the mattress that we set up on the ground, complete with her new bedding. She slept in it last night until about 3:00, so that’s a start! She’s pretty excited about it!
We spent all morning playing at the Montshire Museum, then out to lunch, to pick up some balloons, and then the pet store to pick out new fish. Olivia loves going to the pet store and looking at the "huge fish" and turtles. She opened lots of presents this morning and saved a few for the evening. She still has to eat her cake (and we made cookies) so those pictures will have to be added later.

Lately, she’s really been talking up a storm! We can understand most of what she says, but some of it still sounds like she’s speaking another language and she gets quite frustrated when we don’t know exactly what she’s saying. We compiled a list of all the words she can say now, those we actually do understand. As of today we have about 240, but keep thinking of words to add! She speaks in short sentences and really has a mind of her own. Her favorite things to do are color, play outside, play with the dog and cat, read books, draw on her chalk board, and of course, dance! She even reads to us. She’s really excited about what’s growing in Mommy’s belly and likes to “cuddle Mommy’s belly,” as she says. She can say the baby’s name, but she’s keeping that secret well.
Olivia is getting to be quite the picky eater and we’ve decided that it’s Mommy’s fault; what goes around comes around! I certainly deserve it for all the years of agony I put my parents through! She does have her favorite foods, but there’s no way she’s having mac-n-cheese three meals a day! We’re thankful that she still loves her fruit, veggies, yogurt and cheese.
We’re looking forward to some warmer weather, but winter decided to show up late and fierce so we’re not holding our breath. We will be happy as long as Old Man Winter goes away and lets it warm up in time for Baby Boy’s arrival and all his visitors!
Here are a few pictures of the now two-year-old Olivia Ann (and none of Mommy crying since she now has a two-year-old)! I’m sure I’ll add more this week, so stay tuned!

Still in her pjs, opening presents!

Aaron calls this her "Abbey Road picture".

Last Day of February 2007

Olivia and Mommy enjoyed the last day in February shopping for "big girl sheets"
for her Big Girl Bed and playing outside in the sun.
She really likes wearing her sunglasses and currently has three pairs.
Our little accessorized lady!

The snowman did not enjoy the weather as much as we did.
We fixed him up and even gave him some hair plugs.
