Grandma was here!

We had a very special visitor this weekend - Grandma! It was great having my mom here and she certainly enjoyed having the kiddos all to herself. We were very busy all weekend and the time really flew by! It was hard saying goodbye yesterday and Olivia is still talking about Grandma today and wondering where she is. It's hard living so far from those we love and getting harder every day!
What a goofy little face!

Grandma lovin' is good!

Olivia got lots of new Thomas stuff!
Thanks Aunt Karen and Ethan!

Santa's Land

We went to Santa's Land in Putney, VT on Sunday with Grandma. Olivia certainly had a good time! Grandma and Daddy got a good laugh watching Mommy get aitborn on the big slide. Olivia was scared of Santa and would not step into his house. It's not looking like we'll get any pictures of Olivia on Santa's lap this Christmas either!
The rides were the best part and Olivia did most of them alone!
Grandma did get to ride the Merry-Go-Round and Mommy got to ride the Mushrooms with her, though. Daddy and Mommy each got to go down the big pink slide with her, but Mommy really got some air on it and Daddy got better at the landings each time. Grandma was smart and choose to stay with Aiden during the rides down. Of course, there was a train too!

Bowling for the first time!

We went bowling with Grandma last weekend and Olivia beat Mommy! It was her first time bowling, and she had a pretty good time until she decided she was done and started pushing the ball with one hand. Grandma and Daddy did pretty well, but Mommy's not very good at it! Oh well, we had fun.

Weekend walks

It rained all day Saturday but not before we got a chance to take a walk in our woods Friday night, and then it dried up nicely for us to visit a state park we hadn't been to, Jamaica State Park. Olivia had a blast on the playground, making Mommy nervous as she climbed up the REALLY BIG twisty slide all by herself with the big kids! It had three turns and Olivia swished down the slide with a smile on her face as if she had been doing it her entire life. No fear!

It's getting chilly in Vermont these days and the leaves are just starting to change. Autumn in New England is our favorite time of year because there is so much to do, it's just beautiful outside, and although it gets chilly at night, it's still warm enough to play outside and enjoy all the colors as they unfold each day! I love Autumn in New England!

First time in the backpack!
He loved it!

I can't get her to look at the camera and smile at the same time anymore...

What's this?!

Rice Cereal and He Found His Feet!

Aiden's first food - rice cereal!
We went out to breakfast yesterday and Aiden sat on Aaron's lap - while Aaron finished off Olivia's oatmeal, Aiden was seriously about to jump into the bowl! He loves to watch us eat and can sit in the highchair, so we decided it was time to give out little man some food other than Mommy's milk. He had it for the first time last night and did pretty well.
He also discovered his feet early last week and we can't keep them out of his mouth. Aaron gets such a kick out of this faze of babyhood!

Trains, Trains and More Trains!

Olivia is obsessed with trains so we went to the Glory Days of the Railroad festival on Saturday in White River, Vermont! She had a blast riding the rides alone (what a big girl), bouncing around, boarding the trains, and getting up close and personal with all the different kinds of trains they had. Then we went shopping and she got a new Thomas train - Lady! She is just in love with all things Thomas these days. (She sported two new Thomas tattoos for the day.)

Welcome to September

A day at the Vermont State Fair!Riding with Daddy
We had a great three day weekend and Olivia thought it was just great that Daddy was home for three days in a row! We went to the apple orchard and petting zoo, went for walks around town, the park (of course) and the Vermont State Fair! We saw lots of animals including a pig race (too funny), rode the merry-go-round (of course) and Olivia even rode a ride all by herself! She was fearless as Mommy was outside the gate with tears in her eyes and Daddy stood by in disbelief. What a big girl we have - and now she's officially 2 1/2! We just can't believe how time flies when they are this age. First with Daddy...

then all alone!!!

And then back on the merry-go-round with Mommy!
