That's One Big Zucchini

We're picking veggies from our garden, finally! We have three kinds of peppers, three kinds of tomatoes, garlic chives and zucchini!
Here's the first zucchini we picked and then made zucchini bread and muffins out of:

Circus, Festivals, and Parties, OH MY!

It seems we've been extremely busy lately! I haven't been very good with taking pictures, or charging the batteries, but here's what we've been up to -

We had the Simpson's Premiere

We braved the circus last week and it didn't go very well. Aiden had no interest in letting Mommy sit and Olivia didn't want to watch it without Mommy...so we left early. We'll try again next year (without Aiden).
We went for a hike on the Appalachian Trail/Long Trail and Olivia had a blast throwing rocks in the stream and running around on the trail.

We also went to the Rutland Ethnic Festival and tried some yummy foods and Olivia had fun dancing in the streets (and not listening when it was time to stop). Then we rounded out the weekend going to a birthday party and then the park! I didn't have my camera batteries charged for the party, but Olivia had such a great time! There was a blow-up bouncy/slide and she jumped around with the big kids! She went wading in the pond and played in the sand box for what felt like hours. She took a pretty good nap when we got home!

Aiden has been busy learning how to roll over from his back to his belly and making raspberries with his mouth. It's quite cute but very wet! He's very vocal these days and seems to have something important to say.

Aiden Loves the Bumbo!

Our Smart Little Girl! (Yes, I'm bragging...)

Olivia's first attempt at writing her name:
Olivia is so smart! She just started practicing writing her name, and as you can see, she's doing a great job! She's really interested in making the Os - they're fun! She has known all her letters and colors for months now. She is working on counting up to 20 and counting objects too! She can pick her name out of a bunch of words. She finds letters on the keyboard and already knows where many of them are (she's almost better at typing than Pa is)! She knows the words to many songs - to name a few: The Farmer in the Dell; Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star; Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes; Old MacDonald; All I Really Need (Raffi); and even some words to a few Tom Petty songs (she loves Tom Petty, especially "Turn This Car Around"!)...many more too! We're learning Spanish words right now. Uncle Jason got her a really cool Spanish book so we practice every now and again. She helps Mommy measure in the kitchen, is growing her own vegetables, and reads all the time (she gets the words right all the time to her favorite books). It won't be long before she's helping Mommy spell and Daddy do math...
Let's hope she continues to love learning!

Aiden's push-ups

Aiden's doing a great job with "tummy time"!
Olivia hated it, but not Aiden, he loves it!

Uncle Jason says that the Marines are going to recruit him
if he keeps doing such good push-ups!

Giggles and Rolls!

Aiden giggled for the first time on Saturday! It was the cutest sound ever. He is ticklish along his sides, so once he's in a happy mood (which is about 90% of the time) and you start ticking, he lets out his deep little giggle! I'll try to record it once it's a really good giggle! He also rolled for Aaron Monday night, from his belly to his back. He hasn't done it since, but we think he's on his way! He can hold his head up and likes to sit in his Bumbo, but only for a few minutes. His favorite place to be is sitting on the couch, watching all that's going on around him. He takes it all in with a smile on his face and a toy in his hand.
Olivia is really enjoying summer this year! Her favorite things to do outside are swing, water her garden, go to the park, and take walks. She asks to go to the park every morning - sometimes it's the firs thing out of her mouth! She's getting very brave at the park and will climb up anything and slide down anything. She loves swinging high and so Daddy put in a swing right on our porch! She gets to swing all the time now. Life is good for a little two-year-old girl.
Swinging fun!

Here's (part of) her garden!

Aiden Update

Aiden had a doctor appointment last Thursday (11 weeks old) and had his first round of shots! He did a great job! He did get a little fever for a few hours, so he definitely takes after his Daddy. Here are his latest stats:

Weight - 14 pounds and 10 ounces - 95th percentile (no surprise here!)
Length - 23 5/8 inches - 75th percentile
Head Circumference - 16 1/8 inches - 95th percentile

He's our big boy! Here are a few pictures I took today, just playing around.
Daddy's pinching an inch in this one:
He's such a happy baby! I tried to get a good picture of the two of them wearing their shirts from Aunt Kiley - O has on her Big Sister shirt and Aiden has on his #2 shirt, but they're not so cooperative when they're that close together...

He smiles all the time!

Happy 4th of July!

We had a great 4th of July, even if it did start raining and we didn't get to see the fireworks...
Hope your 4th was enjoyable, too!
At the Montshire, playing inside.

First time giving Aiden a bottle (he isn't too fond of the bottle).

Playing at the park yesterday.

Olivia Counts to 13

Happy July!

We've been busy keeping busy these days! It was HOT last week (it reached 109 on Wednesday) and has finally cooled down. Olivia and Aiden enjoyed the AC inside and swimming outside. Olivia is now done with this round of swim lessons (she didn't do very well) and we've started celebrating the 4th already with two parades! We're looking forward to the fireworks on Wednesday and having Daddy home in the middle of the week. Here are some pictures of what we've been up to lately.

Olivia hiked up her first mountain (she's been up a few mountains before, but this was the first one she actually climbed (almost) completely by herself! Way to go Olivia!

On top of Mount Ascutney in Vermont
We live over that way!
We got to the launch just in time to see two take off.
Taking a break.

O needed some help through this part.
